I hunt all the time and all over the world, all I ask is that the hunts are as advertised. Unfortunately this is usually not the case and because of many disappointing hunts I have become very skeptical to say the least. Now for the complete other side of the coin, I recently booked and completed a hunt with Mountain Hunters New Zealand, it would have to be one of, if not the best hunt I have been on. It is very simple, Brent, Adrian and Wendy provided what they said they would. A beautiful, comfortable, place to stay, delicious home cooked food, spectacular country, magnificent game everywhere. This review is coming from a bowhunter with 19 hunts abroad and probably at least 30 supposedly hunts of a lifetime in the states. A hunt with these people "Mountain Hunters New Zealand" is most definitely worth the time and money. This hunt and these people perform as advertised.

I have been to New Zealand three times now. I will never tire of the beautiful country you live in. Your warm hospitality is very humbling. I feel like I’m visiting old friends. Friends who I very much enjoy hunting with, and who allow me to experience more than just a hunt. Working cattle, doing chores, moving the deer around and even spraying weeds for me was just another part of the whole experience. Thank you again and wishing all the best in the future.

What can I say? This has been an experience of a lifetime. When we booked this trip we knew we were in for a great time but three days in, I can say that this is something magical! Brent and his family truly have a ‘top notch’ operation here. The food, scenery, accommodations and service are all second to none! The Moody’s have made us feel like part of the family and Brents guiding has been some the best I’ve ever had. Today, we are headed to the South Island in search of Tahr. This hunt was my retirement present to myself. Thanks to Keith Atcheson for sending me another adventure of a lifetime. It was challenging getting all my gear, firearm and self through customs. Missing flight in Wellington turned out fine as Brent with his big grin was there to greet me. The hunt was amazing. All the stags and their noises. I also had the opportunity to shoot a fallow buck. I was very pleased with the animals I got plus watching Brent work to get my antlers ready for flight and hides. He is very professional and down to earth. You were great Brent!!! Then I got to spend time with Wendy hiking one day up Castle Rock. That girl has a pair of hiken’ legs. Shee! Beautiful views, nice weather and good company. Adrian and Wendy then took me out of the ranch to earn my keep by herding hinds from one pasture to another. What fun! Was nice to meet Lee. He is quite a character and very entertaining. Thank you so much! Travelling from Ohio USA was well worth the trip. The hunting was fabulous. The animals superb. The guiding was done by not only very knowledgeable men, but friendly, funny, personable people. You will never go hungry here with Wendy cooking from her fresh garden and orchard along with fresh meats and eggs. As a non-hunter I couldn’t have hoped for a more exciting trip. The day trips to the beaches, wine tasting and walks to view the birds and native trees and vegetation. For all this I thank you so much. The sleeping accommodation incredible. Hope to return for that Tahr.

I have been in this beautiful country for 2 weeks, from the varied beauty of the Island here to the majestic Southern Alps where I shot Tahr and Chamois. The country varies from interesting to awe inspiring. I met many people, some quite colorful, all friendly and a pleasure to associate with. From Wendy, Adrian, Brent and Chris, you are in very capable hands that are great to be around! The animals are of a very high quality whether hunting huge estate stags, record book sika, great free range stags, big fallow buck to a side excursion to cull goats and shoot a huge boar hog to finishing up with a deep sea fishing adventure with Lee and a little party with the neighbors, you can't go wrong with this team!!!
